Large-scale Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults come after nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
